Tyler Allen is a member of the firm’s Insurance Recovery and Advisory team.
Tyler represents corporate policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes and advises clients on risk management and recovery strategies.
He handles matters across all stages of litigation, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, providing practical, business-oriented solutions for clients to minimize risk and maximize recovery. Prior to joining Pillsbury, Tyler practiced at leading international and regional law firms, where he represented clients in a wide array of business disputes, including insurance recovery, complex commercial litigation and toxic torts.

In law school, Tyler won multiple national moot court honors in both brief writing and oral advocacy.

- Served on trial team that secured “all sums” allocation for insurance policyholder in receivership, enabling client to collect the total cost of a long-tail liability claim from a single triggered policy year.
- Represented large development company in insurance coverage action against its excess insurer to recover policy limits for construction defects resulting from pervasive natural bedrock expansion.
- Litigated numerous insurance coverage actions for long-tail asbestos and environmental liabilities arising from the historical operations of industrial contractors and manufacturers.

- Represented an international technology company in mass arbitrations arising from breach of contract and discrimination claims.
- Represented a creditor in intervention action to establish rights in “all assets” security interest of oil and gas operator.
- Performed investigations to reconstruct legacy insurance programs of a multitude of defunct companies in receivership.
- Defended a national railroad in complex litigation related to widespread property damage arising from multiple 200-year floods and alleging damages in excess of $300 million.
- Secured grant of asylum for a political refugee and his family after multiple appearances in removal proceedings in U.S. Immigration Court.
