The 2021 Edition of the PTAB Handbook continues to chronicle and analyze thousands of cases and ever-changing rules and procedures of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Patent practitioners use this comprehensive, user-friendly and free resource to navigate the PTAB process and strategies. This Sixth Edition continues the careful review and analyses begun in 2012.
The new 2021 Edition spans more than 1,000 pages, 300 pages more than the 2019 Fifth Edition, and with good reason. The implications of the Thryv decision, same-party and issue joinder, institution discretion, real party in interest/privy, articulation of grounds, discovery, supplemental information/evidence, pre-institution briefing and non-patent literature are just some of the many issues detailed further in this latest edition.
