LOS ANGELES—Pillsbury today announced that noted transportation finance lawyer Richard Evans has joined the firm. Evans has more than a decade of legal experience in the aviation industry and is dual-qualified as an attorney in California and a solicitor of England & Wales. He comes to the firm from White & Case.
Evans, who joins as counsel, focuses on global finance transactions, working primarily with major aircraft leasing companies. His notable clients have included Aercap, Air Lease Corporation, BBAM Aircraft Management, Jackson Square Aviation, Sky Holding Company and Wings Capital Partners. He will partner with special counsel Jason Greenberg to further develop Pillsbury’s West Coast leasing practice and service the firm’s many leasing and banking clients.
“Pillsbury’s Transportation Finance team has had an exciting year, with the addition of leading partners in multiple markets and the expansion of our offering in Asia,” said Transportation Finance practice co-leader Mark Lessard. “Richard’s addition in Los Angeles further augments our capabilities and bolsters our position in the California market. We’re thrilled to have a colleague with his broad experience and connections to round out our team.”
In addition to his private practice experience, Evans was interim general counsel at Jackson Square Aviation, a consultant at a startup aircraft leasing company and in-house counsel at Airbus Group. He has worked in major business capitals around the world, including Hong Kong and London, and is a member of the Aircraft Financing Subcommittee of the American Bar Association.
“Pillsbury has an excellent Transportation Finance practice with one of the most dynamic and skilled teams in this industry,” Evans said. “I am confident my practice will flourish here and that the firm’s global platform will provide a wealth of advantages for my clients.”
In February, Pillsbury added partner Jonathan Goldstein to the Transportation Finance practice in New York, and in March the firm welcomed partner Paul Jebely and announced its expansion in Hong Kong. In April, the practice was recognized for seven Airfinance Journal “Deals of the Year.”
