Leading business consulting and legal research firm BTI has named Pillsbury partners Ronald Fleming and Mark Plumer to its 2022 Client Service All-Stars list. Based on unprompted nominations directly from corporate counsel, the annual list honors attorneys who deliver incomparable levels of client service excellence in the United States.

Fleming is a Corporate partner and the Emerging Companies practice leader in New York. He represents emerging private and public companies, entrepreneurs and financiers in securities offerings and compliance, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law, with particular focus on the technology, biotechnology and telecommunications sectors.

Among the comments from his clients, one stated that, “Ron has access to great resources and is capable of advising us on complicated business issues.” In response, Fleming explained that “…given the vast majority of these clients have no internal lawyers, we replicate the 'feel' of being their in-house legal department—with a focus on their mission, a deep understanding of their business, goals and culture and a great degree of personal connectedness with their team members.”

Plumer is a partner in Pillsbury’s Washington, DC, office and one of the most well-known policyholder insurance lawyers in the country. He advises on a wide array of insurance recovery issues, including environmental, products, toxic tort, cyber, first-party property damage and business interruption, directors and officers, errors and omissions, fidelity, credit risk, and insurer insolvency claims. Described as “responsive, thorough and a good litigator” by client interviewees, the 2022 selection marks Plumer’s second as a BTI Client Service All-Star.

“Each client should feel like they are your only client,” said Plumer of his client philosophy. “Great lawyering includes providing practical advice that takes account of each client’s unique business interests. It also includes each client knowing that you regularly will go out of your way to advance those interests.”
