LOS ANGELES – A team of Pillsbury lawyers represented Eagle Pictures in its investment in Spyglass Media Group, LLC, a company formed by Lantern Entertainment Co-Presidents Andy Mitchell and Milos Brajovic and former studio head Gary Barber. Spyglass will own and control all of Lantern Entertainment’s assets, including projects in development and more than 250 film library titles, as well as scripted and unscripted television series. Lantern Entertainment acquired The Weinstein Co.’s assets and titles in a bankruptcy sale last year.

Eagle Pictures, the largest independent distributor in Italy, has joined Spyglass as a strategic investor. Financial terms were not disclosed. According to the Daily Journal, the capital infusion is expected to help Spyglass execute on its business plan to develop, finance and produce premium content.

The Pillsbury team was led by Los Angeles partners Kathy Jorrie and Chris Patay, along with special counsel Didi Chow.
