Pillsbury was recognized as counsel on two 2016 Deals of the Year—both acting on behalf of Deutsche Bank—at the 12th annual International Financial Law Review Americas Awards. The firm was honored on May 18 at a special ceremony in New York City, receiving awards for both the High Yield and Restructuring Deals of the Year.

Pillsbury’s role in Cablevisión’s debt offering earned High Yield Deal of the Year honors. The firm represented Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas as the trustee and agents in the transaction, in which Cablevisión issued debt notes worth $500 million. New York Corporate partner Peter Baumgaertner and senior associate Paulo Varnieri advised the bank.

The firm was also awarded Restructuring Deal of the Year for its representation of OAS. OAS was one of many organizations involved in the widespread “operation car wash” corruption investigation. A team of Pillsbury lawyers represented Deutsche Bank Trust Company in relation to the restructuring of more than $1 billion in senior notes issued by OAS. The team included Baumgaertner and Varnieri, as well as New York Insolvency & Restructuring partner Leo Crowley.
