As interest grows in leveraging space nuclear systems (SNSs) to establish a permanent presence on the Moon and Mars, explore deep-space, harvest extraterrestrial resources, and otherwise unlock the multi-trillion dollar space economy, the industry is pressed to address unique insurance and indemnification challenges related to liability, potential for radioactive contamination, and other risks specific to launches of mission-enabling nuclear technologies and materials.
