Medical genetics company Invitae Corp. relied on Pillsbury for its $50 million acquisition of Clear Genetics Inc., which develops software for providing genetic services at scale.

Clear Genetics said that its technology equips patients with actionable information throughout the genetic testing process. It also offers guidance for understanding test results. San Francisco-based Invitae said the purchase will help expand its ability to scale and deliver genetic information as part of routine medical care. Invitae will also acquire Clear Genetics’ Clinic Hub, which provides clinicians with software that helps manage patient care, including automated patient triage.

San Diego Corporate partner T. Michael Hird and associate Dusty Wolverton led the deal. Assisting them were partners Richard Blaylock, Mark Jones, C. Brian Wainwright and Gabriella Lombardi. Associates included Jeffrey Sheriff, Margaret Beale-Wirsing, Julie Park and Charmaine Lindley.
