James Rishwain, Pillsbury’s Chair Emeritus, Global Head of Real Estate and Real Estate and Construction Industry Leader, was recently admitted to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL). The ACREL Board of Governors approved Rishwain’s admission upon the recommendation of the Member Selection Committee.

Founded in 1978, ACREL is an invitation-only national association of leading commercial real estate lawyers, recognized for exceptional legal ability, experience and commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards. 

The college brings together distinguished real estate lawyers dedicated to advancing the field through education, thought leadership, law reform and collaboration for the benefit of the profession and the public.

Based in Pillsbury’s Los Angeles office, Rishwain served as global chairman of Pillsbury for a decade and currently serves as a preeminent legal adviser to global market leaders, Fortune 100 companies, real estate companies, professional service firms, family offices and corporate boards. He also has a growing sports practice focusing on major sporting events in Los Angeles including currently the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Super Bowl.
