Jillian Marullo, an accomplished litigation and regulatory attorney, joins Pillsbury’s Environmental & Natural Resources practice in Houston. Marullo joins the firm from Liskow and Lewis.

Marullo has experience in a wide array of complex civil litigation and arbitration, including those involving energy, maritime, commercial and toxic torts, handling cases from inception to appeal. She is also experienced in state and federal regulatory compliance, disputes and appeals.

“As our clients’ needs continue to expand and evolve, Jillian brings additional depth and breadth to our Texas environmental practice, in areas such as energy, natural resources and environmental law for which Pillsbury has been recognized for decades,” said Amanda Halter, the Managing Partner of Pillsbury’s Houston office and a member of the firm’s nationally recognized environmental group. “In addition to Jillian’s comprehensive litigation background, she also served as an intern with important environmental enforcement agencies, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment & Natural Resources Division in Washington, DC, and with the Environmental Division of the Harris County Attorney’s Office here in Houston. Clearly, we are thrilled to welcome her to Pillsbury, as she is an outstanding and respected attorney here in Texas and beyond.”

Among other accolades, Marullo achieved the top score on the Texas Bar Exam and was a recipient of South Texas College of Law’s President’s Award. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers and Houstonia, and has provided significant pro bono legal services as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, and in representing minor children in guardianship and immigration proceedings.

Pillsbury’s Environmental & Natural Resources team in Texas also recently welcomed Anne Idsal Austin, who joined the firm last year, splitting time between Pillsbury’s Austin, Texas and Washington, DC offices. Prior to joining Pillsbury, Austin was the Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Air & Radiation (OAR) in Washington, DC, where she had primary oversight over United States clean air policy and regulation. Before taking the helm at OAR, Austin served as the EPA Regional Administrator for Region 6, overseeing all federal environmental programs in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas, and prior to that served as the Chief Clerk of the General Land Office and General Counsel of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
