March 15, 2011—Pillsbury has been named to the 2011 NAFE Top 50 Companies and 10 Nonprofits for Executive Women by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE). The list recognizes organizations whose policies and practices encourage women's advancement and demonstrate that commitment based on the number of women executives who hold leadership positions.

"Law firms are often tough places for women to succeed, but Pillsbury is working to reverse that. They are moving women to partnership by offering them the flexibility they need to succeed while they also have families. We're excited to include them on our Top Companies list for the first time this year," says Dr. Betty Spence, NAFE president.

Spence adds that among the 2011 NAFE Top Companies, women executives for the first time run 23 percent of operations that generate more than $1 billion in revenue.

"Women have long struggled to reach the highest ranks in a male-dominated business environment, but with the growing profitability of companies with women in the top ranks, that is changing," declares Spence. "Today, employers reward the skills that women bring and demand them of men, as well."

Pillsbury is known for its wide range of programs that help train and prepare women to become partners or take on leadership roles early on. Regardless of gender, the firm offers a flex-time program for attorneys seeking a better work/life balance or who require more flexible hours to accommodate families' diverse schedules, but still wish to remain on the partner track. Emergency child care, college counseling, onsite health and wellness programs and in some offices on-site gyms and exercise classes are also among the benefits offered to help attorneys cope with time constraints and reduce stress levels.

New York partner Robin Spear, a seasoned leader who recently served on the Firm's Managing Board, and is extremely active in Pillsbury's women attorneys' mentoring and retention program, will be attending the NAFE gala luncheon to be held March 30 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City to celebrate this honor.

Pillsbury has been named to Working Mother magazine's Top 100 Companies for Working Families for the past six years, and regularly obtains a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index.
