The National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges has named Pillsbury Insolvency & Restructuring senior associate Dania Slim as one of just 40 participants in the NCBJ’s 2017 Next Generation Program (NextGen). The annual program affords participants an opportunity to converse with bankruptcy judges and network with NextGen alumni. This year, the event will take place in Las Vegas from October 8 – 11.

Slim was randomly selected to participate from a pool of highly qualified nominees, each of whom must meet the NCBJ’s stringent requirements. The program only accepts bankruptcy lawyers with ten or fewer years in practice who have demonstrated their commitment to the highest standards of civility, ethics and professionalism; the continued educational development of bankruptcy professionals; and to professional activities that benefit the public, the bankruptcy bar, and the court system.

Splitting time between Pillsbury’s Palm Beach and Washington, DC, offices, Slim helps clients maximize value by using her bankruptcy, litigation and corporate skills in both in- and out-of-court restructurings. She represents debtors, creditors and other parties in interest (including asset purchasers) in bankruptcy cases across a broad range of industries, including health care, real estate, hospitality and manufacturing. A significant portion of her practice also focuses on Latin America, combining her legal skills with her native Spanish-speaking ability to help bridge language and cultural barriers with the firm’s Latin American clients.
