Three Pillsbury lawyers and three of the firm’s practices have been recognized among the Asia-Pacific region’s best in the 2019 Chambers Asia-Pacific guide. Partners Simon Barrett, Paul Jebely and Anthony Raven were all identified as leading lawyers, while the firm also secured practice rankings for China Aviation: Finance, Japan Construction and Japan Projects & Energy.

Pillsbury’s asset finance practice in China was praised for demonstrating “top-notch, technically sound and efficient service delivery coupled with expertise in the aviation law sector” in the Aviation: Finance category. The local practice is led by Hong Kong office managing partner Paul Jebely, who was personally ranked in the Aviation: Finance section for both the Asia-Pacific region and China.

In Japan, the firm was recognized in the Project & Energy category, with Tokyo partner Anthony Raven earning individual recognition for his “fast, responsive and customer-oriented” work. Meanwhile, fellow Tokyo partner Simon Barrett—who was described as “a very able lawyer” with a strong practice focused on outbound construction an investment projects—was hailed in Chambers Japan Construction research.
