Pillsbury has been named the global “Aviation Law Firm of the Year” by Airline Economics. The honor was announced at the 2020 Aviation 100 Global Awards on January 20 in Dublin, in conjunction with the annual Dublin aircraft finance conference week.

The annual Aviation 100 Global Awards recognize the year’s most outstanding performers in the aviation finance sector and are widely considered to be the sector’s most prestigious awards. Following a voting survey of thousands of sector participants, Pillsbury was singled out from a shortlist of ten law firms both for its very strong active global practice as well as its overall contribution to the sector as a whole. In particular, the team was commended for its commitment to diversity and the open and free sharing of insightful data and commentary.

In addition to taking the top prize as the global Aviation Law Firm of the Year, Pillsbury also played a role in the publication’s Editor Deal of the Year, where the Hong Kong team served a lead lender counsel on the innovative syndicated financing of a new Virgin Atlantic Airways Airbus A350-1000.

Pillsbury’s Asset Finance team serves as a trusted adviser to the most established names in aviation as well as emerging players around the world, including manufacturers, airlines, lessors, financial institutions, corporations, individuals and other investors. Over the last five years alone, the group has helped a diverse range of market participants get or keep more than 1,600 commercial and business aircraft flying, reflecting an aggregate asset value of more than $75 billion.
