Daily Journal has named Pillsbury securities litigation partner Sarah Good to its list of “Top Women Lawyers in California.”

Based in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, Good focuses on securities and consumer class action litigation and has represented defendants in over 75 securities class actions, derivative litigation, and investigations and proceedings.

Speaking to the Daily Journal about her practice and legal trends affecting litigation lawyers, Good commented, “The plaintiffs’ bar isn't filing as many class actions, because of all the hurdles they have to overcome. They're getting more entrepreneurial and creative to generate revenue.”

She highlighted the rise in say-on-pay and proxy disclosure litigation as an example of this creativity. When 90 percent of the M&A deals result in these kinds of claims, Good said, “this tells you that the allegations, by definition, are not meritorious and are lawyer-driven.”
