Pillsbury has been voted by Japanese companies as one of the top seven U.S. law firms for overseas legal issues in a survey conducted by Japanese newspaper Nikkei. The “Corporate Law Attorney Survey” received respondents from 159 companies including both domestic companies as well as major international organizations.

Fusae Nara, a New York-based partner in Pillsbury’s litigation practice and a member of the firm’s Japan practice, commented, “We are honored to be chosen as a go-to firm by Japanese companies. Pillsbury has built a preeminent Japan practice and we are dedicated to helping our clients across an extensive range of legal matters as they enter and grow their operations in the U.S.”

The survey tackled questions about what types of matters Japanese clients use foreign firms for and how they decide which firms to use. A majority of respondents said their companies used foreign law firms for overseas legal cases. Clients noted their preference for firms that provide services on a global scale and have Japanese-speaking attorneys.
