Synopsys, a global software and intellectual property company for semiconductor design and manufacturing, has closed an acquisition to acquire certain IP assets of INVECAS. A team of Pillsbury lawyers represented INVECAS in the deal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Based in Santa Clara, California, INVECAS is a leading provider of silicon proven IP solutions and ASIC design solutions optimized for advanced process technologies as well as embedded software and system-level solutions.

The deal is aimed to broaden Synopsys’ Designware Logic Library and technology within its portfolio. The acquisition will also add a team of experienced research and development engineers to accelerate Synopsys' physical intellectual property to address customers' evolving design requirements in markets such as consumer, IoT and automotive. INVECAS will retain its HDMI IP and ASIC Design Solutions businesses.   

The Pillsbury team was led by Silicon Valley Corporate partners Gurpreet Bal and Jorge del Calvo. Partner David Jakopin and associates Supriya Krishnan, Janessa Ingram and Clinton Jang also worked on the deal.
