Reinforcing its leadership at the forefront of the construction industry, Pillsbury has once again been shortlisted for the 2026 Construction Practice of the Year award by Chambers USA.
The Chambers USA Awards celebrate the achievements of the nation’s most distinguished law firms and attorneys. Backed by the depth and independence of Chambers’ research, these awards recognize those firms that demonstrate exceptional legal acumen, forward thinking innovation and a sustained commitment to delivering results at the highest level of the profession.
This latest recognition underscores Pillsbury’s continued dedication to excellence and its prominent role in shaping the construction law landscape. Notably, Pillsbury represented AECOM Energy & Construction in a dispute with ExxonMobil that resulted in the largest jury verdict ever in the state of Montana in favor of AECOM. Pillsbury is also representing clients in both front-end contract negotiation work and in litigation across the country. By way of example, Pillsbury represents clients in connection with the $2.3 billion, 1.2 million-square-foot Terminal 6 complex at John F. Kennedy International Airport, a $6 billion steel factory contract in Louisiana and in a several hundred million dollar litigation against Southern California Edison.
In addition, the firm is currently advising John Wood Group, Limited and its affiliates including Amec Foster Wheeler in several matters, including an investor-state action against the Republic of Colombia pursuant to the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement, as well as coordinating Amec Foster Wheeler’s defense in an unrelated recovery proceeding commenced by the Contraloría General de la República of Colombia seeking approximately $800 million in alleged fiscal damage.
Further, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit recently affirmed a nearly $40 million judgment obtained by Pillsbury on behalf of Polaris Engineering, Inc., an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor in a high-stakes dispute involving the construction of a petroleum refining facility. The ruling marks the culmination of a years-long dispute stemming from Polaris’ largest project in late 2018, which was the development of a $150 million crude oil distillation unit and related terminal and dock infrastructure in Galveston, Texas.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on June 11, 2026, at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.
