Pillsbury’s London office has once again achieved success at this year’s Clean City Awards Scheme. This year, the firm won the “Moving Towards a Circular Economy” award, which is given for embedding reuse into everyday operations through practical changes, from eliminating coffee pods to textiles recycling.

The scheme, run by the City of London Corporation, recognizes and celebrates businesses that demonstrate exceptional environmental responsibility and sustainability efforts within the City’s Square Mile. It helps businesses improve sustainability across five core areas: air quality, climate action, resource efficiency, circular economy and reducing plastic waste.

Pillsbury has participated in the awards scheme for several years, building on the firm’s success year on year — winning the “Plastic Free City” award last year. This achievement reflects the firm’s continued dedication to significantly reducing single-use plastics, including the use of refillable snack dispensers.

The awards align with the City Corporation’s Climate Action Strategy, which commits the organization to achieving net zero carbon emissions in its own operations by 2027 and its full value chain by 2040, as well as supporting the whole Square Mile to reach net zero by 2040 – a decade ahead of national targets.
