The Los Angeles Business Journal has identified Pillsbury partners Mark Litvack and Carolyn Toto as two of city’s most outstanding litigation attorneys in its annual Top Litigators & Trial Lawyers report. Just 74 lawyers, described as both “the lawyers you want in your corner in court” and “some of the very best litigators in the business,” were recognized in this year’s list.

In the accompanying write-up, LABJ praises Litvack as “an accomplished litigator with experience in trademark, copyright and general commercial cases from New York to California and from Florida to Washington.”  Among his recent noteworthy litigation wins, the journal highlights leading roles defending New Roads School—in which Litvack won a unanimous jury verdict that literally saved the educational institution—and a securing the dismissal of a potential class action against j2 Global, Inc.

Toto, who co-leads Pillsbury’s Internet and Social Media team, is recognized as a skilled IP litigator who has “successfully resolved patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright infringement cases through jury trial, on appeal and by negotiated settlement.” The report cites her leading role on behalf of In-N-Out Burger in a high-profile trademark infringement and false advertising suit and her successful representation of King Taco Restaurant, Inc. in a federal trademark and unfair competition suit.
