Rakhi Savjani, an Asset Finance senior associate based in Pillsbury’s London office, has been recognized by Airfinance Journal as one of the world’s most promising young lawyers advising in aircraft finance matters. Only eight individuals were selected to the publication’s prestigious rising stars list this year.

In the accompanying profile, Savjani was hailed for her practical and thoughtful approach to issues, with Pillsbury’s Asset Finance practice co-leader noting that she “has distinguished herself not only through her legal knowledge, but also through her exceptional client service.” Her recent notable work advising Emirates on the listing of AA4+ on the LSE specialist fund market (which previously won Airfinance Journal’s Editor’s Deal of the Year) and representing a major Irish-based lessor in lease restructuring arrangements regarding four A320 aircraft subject to lease suspension arrangements and new lease agreement and registration in a new jurisdiction involving substitute Asian and Indian airlines were also highlighted.

Savjani has acted for clients across the aviation industry, including several of the top 10 operating lessors, major Middle Eastern airlines and various financial institutions. She has extensive experience working on a wide range of high-value, cross-border aircraft and engine trading, financing and leasing transactions utilizing a variety of structures, including finance and operating leases, secured debt, pre-delivery payment financings, export credit agency-supported deals and Islamic financings. She also regularly assists clients with their aircraft and engine acquisitions and disposals, and the related lease novations.
