Every day we read new, horrifying stories of attacks on Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) people across the country, from violent physical attacks that have resulted in deaths, vandalism of AAPI-owned businesses and property, and verbal harassment. The 1,900 percent increase in hate crimes against AAPIs since the beginning of the pandemic has echoes in history and brings to mind past periods of anti-Asian hate and the continuing perception of AAPIs as forever foreigners.

During this program, a panel of experts explore the history and perpetuation of anti-Asian sentiment and harassment in our country, and also propose some definitive steps that could be taken to address this new wave of anti-Asian attacks nationwide.
