Texas’ Matagorda County Commissioner’s Court passed a resolution naming a portion of Highway 35 the “Congressman Greg Laughlin Highway” in honor of the Honorable Gregory Laughlin, former Texas Congressman and current senior counsel with Pillsbury.

He was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1989 to 1997, when he served on the House Ways and Means Committee, the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Merchant Marine and Fisheries Committee. Laughlin actively supported national and regional transportation and infrastructure initiatives that benefited Texas and the Gulf Coast region.

He was also instrumental in the development and related improvements of State Highway 35, which today serves as a vital transportation corridor and contributes significantly to Matagorda County’s commerce, hurricane evacuation, tourism, and access to the port and coastal economic assets.

At Pillsbury, where he is part of the firm’s Government Law & Strategies practice, he counsels and assists clients in navigating issues with Congress and the Executive branch.
