SAN FRANCISCO – Theatre Bay Area, one of the largest regional performing arts service organizations in North America, recently presented retired Pillsbury partner Toni Rembe Rock and her husband Arthur Rock with its Community Impact Award.

The award was presented on June 24 in a gala VIP reception at Z Space Theater in San Francisco. The award recognizes community members who provide outstanding leadership in service to the theatre arts in the Bay Area. The award celebrates the important work done by today’s visionary leaders and aims to inspire such vision in the next generation.

According to the organization, Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock have provided the means for countless Bay Area arts organizations to thrive over the past 40 years. Their generosity to Theatre Bay’s CA$H Grants program supports emerging theater companies and individual theater makers.

“TBA helps to build and support a viable theater community in the Bay Area,” Toni Rembe remarked. “I am pleased that the CA$H program has increased stipends to enable talented theater artists to stay in the Bay Area.”

Among the first female partners at a large U.S.-based law firm, Toni Rembe served as managing partner of Pillsbury’s Tax Department and was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She is the co-founder of the Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University and the president of the Van Loben Sels Rembe Rock Foundation, a private foundation specializing in social justice and related legal services.
