The business court is a specialty trial court designed to resolve high-dollar business disputes. To that end, the business court has limited jurisdiction, hearing claims that fall into three categories: (1) governance disputes of more than $5 million, (2) commercial disputes of more than $10 million, and (3) certain related claims where the business court may exercise supplemental jurisdiction. The business court comprises 5 separate divisions (for now), which correspond to Texas’ Administrative Judicial Regions.
