In a recent letter to the editor published by City A.M., Pillsbury Energy partner Vincent Zabielski voiced his disappointment that the UK has scaled back its funding for green energy projects.

“If [the UK] wants to have a competitive response to the USA’s Inflation Reduction Act, we need to throw some real financial firepower behind carbon-free energy investment,” he wrote.

In his letter, titled “Show Us the Green,” Zabielski named nuclear as arguably the UK’s “best bet.” However, the country’s nuclear fleet has reached its expiration.

“The best time to build a new nuclear plant was ten years ago, and the second-best time is right now. It is simply too late to ignore the UK’s growing energy problem,” he concluded.
