Limited Liability Partnership. Under the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000, a limited liability partnership is a corporate body with a legal personality separate from its members; accordingly the members have no liability for the obligations of Pillsbury UK (except in certain circumstances the members may be obliged to contribute to the assets of an LLP on winding up). A full list of the members of Pillsbury UK, and their professional qualifications is available at the registered office. All members are either solicitors, barristers or Registered Foreign Lawyers. A reference to the term partner in connection with Pillsbury UK is to a member of the UK limited liability partnership or an employee of equivalent status and does not represent or imply a general partnership between or among the members.

Professional Liability Insurance. Pillsbury UK meets or exceeds the obligation for minimum professional insurance coverage under the Solicitor's Indemnity Insurance Rules 2009. The insurer is Hamilton Syndicate 4000, Hamilton Managing Agency Syndicate 4000, Level 3, 8 Fenchurch Place, London, EC3M 4AJ . This insurance coverage is for claims brought against the insured entity wherever arising and is not therefore subject to territorial restriction. A copy of the insurance certificate is available for inspection at the registered office.

Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. The provision of legal services may involve regulated activities relating to investments within the meaning of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (as amended from time to time). Pillsbury UK is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under that Act. Pillsbury UK may, however, undertake activities (such as arranging and advising) which are incidental to the legal services provided or which may reasonably be regarded as a necessary part of such legal services. In doing so Pillsbury UK is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Nothing in any communication made by Pillsbury UK should be construed as advice on the merits of acquiring or disposing of particular investments or an invitation or inducement to engage in any investment activity.

Complaints. Pillsbury UK is committed to providing the highest quality of service. If you are a client, please discuss any concerns or complaints about any services provided or any bill with your designated Client Partner or, if you prefer, with Matthew Oresman, our Client Care Partner. Mr. Oresman may be contacted by telephone on +44.20.7847.9516; by email to matthew.oresman@pillsburylaw.com; or by writing to them at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Tower 42, Level 23, 25 Old Broad Street, London EC2N 1HQ. Pillsbury UK has a formal complaints procedure which is available from the Client Care Partner on request. If you are not satisfied with our handling of your complaint you may be entitled to ask the Legal Ombudsman to consider the matter. You can contact the Legal Ombudsman by post (PO Box 6167, Slough, SL1 0EH); via his website (www.legalombudsman.org.uk); by telephone (0300 555 0333); and by e-mail (enquiries@legalombudsman.org). The time limit for a client to complain to the Legal Ombudsman is six months from the end of our complaints process if we provide full information about your right to take a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman at that point. Or (if we fail to provide full information about your right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman) one year from the date of the relevant act/omission or one year from when the complainant should have known that there was cause for complaint . Not all clients are entitled to have their case considered by the Legal Ombudsman. We are happy to provide further details on request.
