We assist international companies with doing business in India, whether through acquisition, global sourcing, technology transfer or licensing structures. When business transactions in the region occasionally go awry or involve disputes, we also assist those companies in resolving such matters, working through our well-established network of contacts in the country.
We also have extensive experience in advising Indian companies and their promoters on outbound ventures and have acted on significant acquisitions and investments by Indian clients in technology, real estate, energy, film production and financial services. We have also acted for many Indian companies raising money outside India through equity, GDR and FCCB issuance in the US, London, Luxembourg and Singapore markets.
In addition to transactional work for clients, our team has a deep understanding of trade issues affecting India through representing the Government of India on many WTO policy issues, including: agricultural subsidies, solar policies and the development of policies aimed at strengthening indigenous manufacturing.
