John Mauel spoke on the prospects for exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the U.S. to a range of destinations, possibly including countries like Japan that do not have a U.S. free trade agreement. Robert James, co-leader of Pillsbury's Energy industry team, presented on the development, permitting and acquisition of shale oil and gas interests in the U.S. Thomas Campbell, leader of Pillsbury's Crisis Management practice, discussed the new standards for management of U.S. crisis responses and crisis liability in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon blowout. Hideki Akiyama, a partner in the Tokyo office's Corporate and Securities practice, contributed additional thoughts and emphasized points of particular relevance from the Japanese perspective.
