Our finance lawyers’ broad experience exposes them to the full spectrum of legal and business issues that shape complex financing and investment transactions. We combine in-depth knowledge of various industries with financing skills to help structure, document and close domestic and cross-border transactions. We advise on a full range of secured and unsecured financings, including asset-based credit facilities, acquisition facilities, financial asset warehouse facilities, letter of credit and acceptance facilities, commercial paper conduit and capital market back-up facilities. Our attorneys provide skilled representation in every aspect of equipment finance, with transaction experience in aircraft, rail, satellites, telecommunications and other equipment, and fixed assets such as coal mines, manufacturing facilities and electric power plants. We also advise the financial service sector on regulatory matters, including product design and geographic and functional expansion, and compliance matters. Our corporate trust group provides advice in connection with complex structured securities as well as counseling clients through the issues arising with defaulted obligations, bankruptcy and creditor claims. Our clients also look to Pillsbury for advice with respect to the distressed debt trading activities, whether in the trading itself, purchasing or selling distressed debt portfolios or structuring more complex distressed debt assets. In project finance, clients call on us for early project development matters related to bidding, contracting and regulatory work, structuring a project’s commercial contracts to support financing objectives, and for tax and local matters. We also are experienced in representing clients in distressed debt situations – both on the creditor and debtor side.
