Allan Van Vliet advises clients on a wide variety of commercial transactions, with a focus on serving clients in the real estate, construction and energy industries.

Allan regularly represents clients in all phases of the purchase, sale, financing and management of office, industrial, retail, multifamily and hospitality projects and properties. He represents landlords and tenants in the negotiation and drafting of leases for various kinds of commercial properties. Allan’s practice also includes advising clients on how to navigate state and local land use controls and procedures.

As a member of Pillsbury’s Projects team, Allan represents both property owners and contractors in the preparation of financing, design and construction documents for diverse types of developments and projects, including energy facilities, office spaces, retail spaces, multifamily housing projects, health care facilities and manufacturing facilities.

Allan has advised clients on compliance questions and transactional matters involving state and federal gaming and gambling laws, with respect to both tribal and non-tribal gaming. He also represents both tribal and non-tribal clients in matters involving federal Native American law generally.

Representative Experience

  • Negotiated construction contract and related documents on behalf of manufacturer of solar panel components, in connection with the design and construction of a new U.S. assembly facility.
  • Represented tenant in the negotiation of lease documents for 40,000 square feet of premier Class A office space in downtown San Francisco, and in the preparation of construction documents for tenant improvement buildout.
  • Negotiated and facilitated disposition of distressed 1.1 million square foot office building.
