Represented Hawaii Department of Transportation, in a dispute with Ciber and XL, the primary D&O insurer, resulting in a favorable non-confidential, $31.7 million-dollar settlement.
Represented Cottage Health, in a first of its kind cyber-insurance coverage claim against CNA and Beazley, resulting in a favorable settlement for the insured.
Represented Cedars-Sinai, in a medical malpractice coverage claim against Homeland Insurance Company.

Represented NFL quarterback Tom Brady, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and comedian Larry David in connection with insurance coverage for claims arising out of their promotion of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

Represented Rockland Funding, L.L.C. d/b/a Westbrook Partners against Continental Casualty Company (CNA), Everest Indemnity Insurance Company and Starr Surplus Lines Insurance Company in litigation to obtain tens of millions of dollars in specialty insurance coverage for communicable disease stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Represented Soil-Nail Holdings, LLC and Access Limited Construction against Allied World Assurance Company in a bad faith failure to settle an underlying tort claim.

Represented L.A. Terminals Inc. and Soco West Inc. in a bad faith suit against United National Insurance Company for failing to defend the companies against environmental lawsuits from the City of Los Angeles, which sought more than $60 million from the former city-owned port operators.

Represented Fluor Corporation in a claim for tortious interference against Resolute Management Co., which was alleged to have intentionally improperly handled Fluor’s claims to the benefit of its parent company.

Represented Fluor Corporation against against Zurich American Insurance Company in a claim for bad faith failure to settle underlying environmental litigation.

Represented Oportun in connection with insurance coverage under a crime policy for millions in losses caused by a digital fraud ring.

Represented Skyryse in connection with insurance coverage for a lawsuit involving an advanced pilot assistance system which combines artificial intelligence, a flight perception suite, and decision-making algorithms, regarding allegations that Skyryse and two former top Moog employees engaged in theft of asensitive technical data belonging to the US federal government.

Represented DTE Energy in connection with insurance coverage claims arising form the flooding that occurred in Southeast Michigan in 2021.

Represented Sigma Plastics Group, a major plastics manufacturer, against Beazley in a successful NinthCircuit appeal.

Represented Marc Fisher Footwear, owner of Nine West and other footwear brands, against Hartford FireInsurance Company in business interruption claims stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Represented Passport 420, in an insurance case involving a $10 million policy covering a private jet that was seized as part of a criminal case.

Represented Opus Bank, in an insurance coverage case against Axis Insurance Company.

Represented Hasa, Inc., in a breach of contract class action case related to insurance claims against Steadfast Insurance Company and others.

Represented Somera Capital Management, in a professional liability suit against Twin City Fire Insurance Co.

Represented International Union of Operating Engineers, in an insurance coverage case against Illinois National Insurance Co.

Represented Pennsylvania State University, in a dispute with Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association Insurance Company, resulting in a favorable settlement of coverage claims stemming from the Sandusky sex abuse scandal.

Represented Chevron U.S.A., Inc., in a breach of contract and negligence case against Wendt & Sons Construction Inc.

Represented Chevron Products Company, in a breach of contract and negligence case against Advanced Corrosion Technologies & Training.

Represented NBC Universal and others, in a breach of contract copyright case related to the use of story ideas in a recent Hollywood film.

Represented Universal City Studios, in an unfair competition case involving advertising for a Hollywood motion picture.
