Luke Hartman litigates patent infringement disputes and counsels clients on patent portfolio development. He specializes in patents related to software and electromechanical devices.
Luke assists clients with all phases of the patent life cycle. He has litigated complex patent disputes involving software, electronics, medical devices and mechanical devices in district courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC). His patent prosecution and counseling experience spans software, artificial intelligence, machine learning, electronics, mechanical devices, and more. Luke has also conducted patent portfolio assessments, prepared patentability opinions, and handled appeals before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
Representative Experience
- Represented an aerial defense company in three patent infringement lawsuits. Secured complete dismissal of one case; obtained favorable settlements of the other two following a successful claim construction ruling.
- Developed strategies for protecting a triple-A video game developer’s IP ahead of a major game release.
- Drafted several patent applications directed to methods of using AI to manage large databases.
