Michael Stavros focuses his practice on insolvency, restructuring and bankruptcy-related litigation matters.

Michael has experience advising on state and federal litigation, adversary proceedings, as well as all aspects of complex litigation and bankruptcy proceedings, including discovery, motion practice, mediation, trial and appeals. He represents debtors and creditors in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and chapter 7 liquidation matters.

Prior to joining Pillsbury, Michael was a bankruptcy attorney at a Florida law firm with experience in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts and served as a judicial intern in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.

  • Represented a national surety company as largest creditor in chapter 7 liquidation of FDOT-backed highway builder.
  • Represented a health insurance brokerage in Delaware as creditor of defunct network provider.
  • Advised corporate chapter 11 debtors from pre-bankruptcy through successful reorganization, including preparing and arguing first-day motions to drafting and confirming plans of reorganization.
