A Commonwealth Partners subsidiary’s purchase of an iconic Manhattan building for nearly $2 billion – a matter on which Pillsbury advised – was one of the largest real estate deals of 2016, according to Law360.

The publication identified the subsidiary’s $1.94 billion acquisition of the 787 Seventh Ave. building from AXA Deutsche Bank as the biggest to occur in the first six-months of 2016. It was the sixth largest overall.

The cross-office Pillsbury team that handled the matter was led by New York Real Estate partner Caroline Harcourt and San Francisco senior counsel Alan Pomerantz.
