Pillsbury advised Albanian billionaire Shefqet Kastrati, the owner of a leading independent privately owned petroleum company, Kastrati Group, in preparing Kastrati for the Group’s $53.5 million purchase of the SLS Brickell Hotel in Miami.

Private Client & Family Office partner Mike Kosnitzky and Tax counsel Josh Becker served as counsel to Kastrati advising on general corporate, real estate and tax matters relating to the acquisition.

The purchase of the 124-room hotel, which totaled to $431,500 per room, marks the group’s first in the U.S., according to The Real Deal. It has also been named one of the largest real estate acquisitions of the year in South Florida.
