In an interview with the Lawyerist, Allison Leopold Tilley, a Silicon Valley-based partner in Pillsbury’s corporate and securities technology practice, discussed her career as well as why she loves representing clients working on new technologies. She also spoke about what it is that makes entrepreneurs successful and what kinds of challenges the clients she represents face.

Responding to a question about the most challenging aspects of her work, Leopold Tilley said keeping up-to-date with technology. “So whether it is online businesses, cloud computing, big data, semi-conductors, social media or the like, I need to have an understanding of what it is and how it works. It keeps me on my toes.”

She explained that many of her clients are creating new technologies or markets that don’t exist. “They’re doing something very complex while at the same time finding funding, recruiting talent, and trying to beat the other guy to market. Often they’re going head-to-head with a major public company, so they’ve got to get people to take them seriously.”
