In its annual Litigation Outlook 2017, BTI Consulting Group placed Pillsbury in its “Awesome Opponents” tier of “highly regarded and fierce litigators.” The ranking was based on a survey of more than 300 general counsels and in-house litigation heads. The survey asked them which law firms they would least like to see as opposing counsel.
Pillsbury’s 200-lawyer litigation team has logged a number of high-profile successes in the past 18 months, including defeating a trademark claim against Facebook’s Oculus VR, securing $23 million in damages from insurers for damage caused by subcontractors’ mistakes and defeating a gift card class action against Wells Fargo. In 2015, Pillsbury also won two of the country’s biggest insurance recovery, breach of contract jury verdicts: $72 million for Lion Oil and $55 million on behalf of Victaulic Company.
