The Los Angeles Business Journal has named Pillsbury partners Carolyn Toto and Anna Graves as two of Los Angeles’ 75 Most Influential Women Lawyers in 2019.

In its profile of Toto, the Business Journal notes that the Intellectual Property partner advises technology industry leaders on all aspects of IP litigation, strategic prosecution and portfolio management, and licensing. She also co-leads the firm’s Internet and Social Media team and manages and writes for the firm’s popular Internet & Social Media Law Blog. Among her notable matters, the Business Journal reports that Toto recently led a Pillsbury team on behalf of In-N-Out Burgers against Smashburger. For patent and trademark prosecution work, she represents King Taco, Diaso California, Xerox Corp., Nando’s and Motorcar Parks of America, Inc.

The Business Journal notes that Graves co-leads the firm’s Restaurant, Food & Beverage Industry group, while handling complex M&A transactions, private offerings, joint ventures, brand licensing and extensions, start-up structuring and financing, and general corporate matters. Her clients include major national and international restaurant ventures, food and beverage manufacturers and distributors, and consumer and retail companies. In the past 18 months, Graves worked on five M&A transactions, a follow-on equity round and a private placement. She also assisted a large international packaged food company in establishing U.S. operations and helped a major luxury retailer set up a restaurant in its Manhattan flagship location.
