A Pillsbury team led by Silicon Valley Corporate partner Allison Leopold Tilley advised contract life cycle management company Exari Group Inc. in its acquisition by Coupa Software Inc. Based in San Mateo, Coupa Software provides a cloud-based platform designed to help businesses manage their spending. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition of Exari is expected to extend Coupa’s existing contract management capabilities and reinforce Coupa’s strategy of providing power-user applications that maximize the value of information captured in its platform.

Once the transaction closes, Exari will be united with the Coupa contract repository. The result is expected to enable companies to create and manage compliant contracts and make them operational against spend transactions to turn negotiations into realized savings.

The deal is expected to close during Coupa’s fiscal second quarter.

Joining Leopold Tilley on the deal were Cindy Schlaefer, C. Brian Wainwright, David Jakopin, Deborah Thoren-Peden, Alex Tinucci, Omar Bailony, Janessa Ingram, Lana Persaud and Colleen Lamarre.
