SAN FRANCISCO – Developer Jay Paul Co. has opened its latest building, an 802-foot mix-used tower, in the heart of San Francisco’s bustling South of Market district. The building, which includes 436,000 square feet of Class A office space, has been leased to Facebook. Located at 181 Fremont Street, the building also offers 67 ultra-luxury condominiums for sale.

A Pillsbury team has been working on the project for more than a decade. Principal team members include lead Real Estate partner Rachel Horsch as well as Kevin Ashe, Douglas Pyle, Alexander Walker, Nan McGarry and Noa Clark.

The $680 million project consists of 55 stories and features an angled, asymmetric exoskeleton structure. The project is next to the upcoming Salesforce Transit Center. A pedestrian path will connect 181 Fremont to the center’s five-acre rooftop park.

Jay Paul Co., which is best known for developing suburban office campuses in the South Bay, purchased the downtown San Francisco site in 2013. It was the company’s first high-rise tower, first residential, and first urban office project.
