In its August 16 edition, Daily Journal profiled Callie Bjurstrom, Pillsbury partner and co-leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice section. Bjurstrom, who has previously been recognized by Daily Journal as a top litigator, spoke with the publication about some of her most recent cases.

The article covers her success as co-lead counsel for ZTE Corp. in several high-stakes patent litigation matters and her position as lead trial counsel representing the organizers of San Diego’s Comic-Con in their trademark lawsuit against Salt Lake City’s similarly named event.

Most notably, the article profiles Bjurstrom’s recent win on behalf of digital agency Cuker Interactive LLC, in which she, along with a team of Pillsbury lawyers, secured a $12.4-million verdict against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in a breach of contract and trade secrets lawsuit.

“My client trusted Wal-Mart and had a business relationship they thought would be a long-lasting partnership,” Bjurstrom told Daily Journal about the case. “We feel vindicated by the court and the jury in Fayetteville [Arkansas].”
