Law360 has selected Tamara Bruno, leader of the Texas section of Pillsbury’s Insurance Recovery & Advisory practice, to the elite slate of attorneys chosen as 2021 practice MVPs. Bruno was one of just six lawyers recognized nationwide in the Insurance category.
According to Law360, Bruno’s representation of a Northrop Grumman unit in securing more than $100 million in coverage for an underlying securities class action, a leading accomplishment for the institutional policyholder representative, earned her a spot among their 2021 Insurance MVPs.
In her exclusive MVP profile feature, Bruno said she’s an insurance attorney because she wants to be a strong advocate for policyholders to balance out the experienced representation insurers benefit from in litigation.
"The insurers are represented by expert counsel who are steeped in the area and the market, and I really felt that policyholders needed and deserved advocates with the same level of expertise," she said. "There's a lot more insurance companies can get away with if the policyholder doesn't have counsel or has less experienced counsel."
