Teams led by lawyers from Pillsbury’s Emerging Growth & Venture Capital practice have recently advised tech industry clients in a series of deals:

Partner Riaz Karamali and associate Matthew Desharnais represented Colorado-based MycoTechnology Inc., which has developed a natural process for enhancing the taste and quality of agricultural products, as it secured $6.7 million in a Series A financing round. The round was led by S2G Ventures; Middleland Capital and Seventure Partners also participated.

MycoTechnology says it will use the funds for research and development, in addition to expanding its sales and operations departments.

Additionally, partners James Masetti and Brian Wainwright led a team that advised video software provider Envivio Inc. as it was acquired by Swedish communications technology company Ericsson AB for $125 million. The companies announced Sept. 10 that Ericsson will offer a cash tender to purchase all remaining Envivio shares for $4.10 each and a merger will follow.

Pillsbury’s team also included partners Justin Hovey and Heidi Mayon; senior associate Gurpreet Bal; and associates Khan Shing, Matthew Ryan and Jimmy Yun.

Also out of the firm’s Corporate & Securities – Tech practice, partner Stanley Pierson and associate Ryan Delaney represented Silicon Valley software developer Paxata Inc. as it raised $18 million in a Series C funding round.

The round was led by the investment division of the Singapore Economic Development Board and also included Accel Partners India, Walden-Riverwood Ventures and Toba Capital, according to Daily Journal. Paxata says it will use the funds to grow its research and development, sales and marketing divisions.
