Silicon Valley—Qualcomm announced its proposed acquisition of Atheros, the leading provider of wireless connectivity solutions, for $45 a share or approximately $3.1B. According to The New York Times, this is Qualcomm's largest ever acquisition and underscores the growing importance of smartphones and tablet computers. Pillsbury partners Jorge del Calvo and Allison Leopold Tilley, who incorporated Atheros in 1998, led the legal team representing Atheros.

Del Calvo and Leopold Tilley are both emerging growth & venture capital attorneys in the firm's Silicon Valley office which has a strong focus on nurturing start up companies from their inception to M&A, IPO and beyond, representing them throughout their entire growth cycle.
