Pillsbury DC-based Energy partner Jay Silberg, has been named to The Nuclear Energy Institute’s board of directors. The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) is the organization responsible for establishing unified industry policy on matters affecting the nuclear energy industry. NEI's members include entities licensed to operate U.S. commercial nuclear power, nuclear plant designers, major architect/engineering firms, fuel cycle facilities, nuclear materials licensees, and other organizations and entities involved in the nuclear energy industry.

The NEI board is composed of senior executives from companies that hold licenses to operate nuclear energy facilities and representatives of organizations involved in commercial nuclear technologies. Silberg is the only outside counsel on the NEI Board.

Silberg is one of the nuclear power industry’s “go-to” lawyers, responsible for licensing many U.S. nuclear plants and litigating many precedent-setting cases impacting the nuclear industry. He advises on all aspects of nuclear law, including licensing, trial and appellate litigation, M&A and contracting, policy development and compliance. Silberg represents electric utilities and utility groups, governmental entities, nuclear energy and consulting firms, and other industry players, advocating for clients before the NRC, DOE, state regulatory commissions, U.S. Congress and federal trial and appellate courts. He advises on matters that range from plant design, construction and operational issues, to decommissioning and spent nuclear fuel storage and disposal.
