San Diego—Pillsbury today announced that intellectual property (IP) litigators Callie Bjurstrom and Peter Hahn have joined its Intellectual Property practice section as partners in San Diego. Specifically, Bjurstrom and Hahn’s backgrounds span key industries and disciplines including international technology law and global business, electronic gaming, consumer products and branding, IP portfolio management and complex litigation.

“Peter and Callie are tremendous additions to our firm,” said Pillsbury partner Jim Rishwain. “From securing IP assets and navigating cross-border agreements to handling complex litigation, Peter and Callie’s versatility and depth in these and other areas will help us further anticipate and answer our clients’ needs. Their addition furthers our commitment to Southern California generally and San Diego specifically.”

“Callie and Peter are skilled and accomplished partners and great fits for Pillsbury, both in San Diego and across our firmwide practices,” said Jack Barufka, firmwide leader of Pillsbury's Intellectual Property practice. “With IP and litigation matters raising the stakes considerably across the core industries we serve, Callie and Peter bring invaluable insight for our clients and strategic growth potential for our firm.”

“Pillsbury’s industry profile and international platform make it a very attractive place to continue our work in San Diego and to grow our practice areas through collaboration with our new colleagues,” Bjurstrom added. “Pillsbury has built legal teams serving clients in some of the most dynamic and promising industries such as manufacturing, retail, social media, entertainment and technology. We look forward to contributing to these teams and working with companies in these exciting sectors.”
