NEW YORK – Pillsbury announced today that it has hired Stephen Ashley as a new partner in the firm’s Capital Markets practice. He comes to the firm from Orrick in New York.

Mr. Ashley advises clients on a wide range of securities law matters and regularly represents issuers and underwriters in domestic and cross-border capital markets transactions. His experience includes public offerings and private placements of common and preferred equity and investment grade, high yield and convertible debt securities, as well as liability management transactions such as exchange offers, tender offers and consent solicitations. He also advises clients on compliance, corporate governance, stock exchange listing and other general corporate matters, while working closely with M&A and Insolvency & Restructuring teams on securities related issues.

“Stephen will immediately add depth, capability and experience to our expanding capital markets practice,” said David Baxter, co-leader of Pillsbury’s Capital Markets practice. “As a relatively young partner, he has a long career ahead of him and the drive and enthusiasm to grow his practice along with ours.”

“I’ve been impressed by Pillsbury’s expansion in New York and I look forward to joining this collaborative, entrepreneurial firm,” Mr. Ashley said. “In addition to working closely with partners in New York, I’m also excited about being a capital markets resource to the firm’s very busy West Coast corporate and technology practice.”
