The Law.com intellectual property law column “Skilled in the Art” has reported that the Fifth Edition of Pillsbury’s PTAB Handbook is available – for everyone. Edited by Intellectual Property partner Bill Atkins, the handbook breaks down each step of a Patent Trial & Appeal Board proceeding with examples from all relevant PTAB caselaw.
The PTAB Handbook is now online and free to access at PTABHandbook.com. A dedicated team, which reviews every PTAB decision, has been working since well before the first printing in 2015 and continues to constantly update the content. This new fifth edition is the most recent, with citations to thousands of decisions that had just become available.
Previous editions were published by Bloomberg BNA, but Pillsbury has published the latest version on a dedicated website that is fully searchable for keywords.
“We've got a team of people looking at every decision that issues,” Atkins told Law.com. “We're doing our best to keep pace with the PTAB.”
