A team of Pillsbury lawyers in Silicon Valley represented software-defined storage innovator Hedvig in its acquisition by Commvault for $225 million. Commvault is a leading provider of software for the management of data across cloud and on-premises environments.

Founded in 2012, Hedvig drives significant operational efficiency, addresses the data sovereignty problems stemming from data governance laws, and enables hybrid cloud and multi cloud capabilities natively. Operational efficiency is achieved via complete protocol consolidation (block, file, and object storage) on a single platform.

The Pillsbury team included lead counsel Stan Pierson, who has represented Hedvig since its inception, partners Cindy Schlaefer, Brian Wainwright and David Jakopin and associates Omar Bailony, Colleen Lamarre and Charmaine Lindley.
